Many have you have asked me about if the power is going to go out? Get your homes ready. Both the Department of War and UK Minister have begun preparing people and the military for power outages. These may or may not be permanent. The Pentagon's most recent and prominent order is the FORTRESS initiative, announced by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on September 30, 2026. This directive requires all major U.S. military bases in the continental United States to be capable of operating independently for 90 days without external support for power, fuel, water, or supplies in the event of a major conflict. Autonomous Warfare Command, creates a new Corps of Cadets, launches the "FORTRESS" (Federal Operations for Resilience, Troop Resources, Energy, Supply, and Survivability) readiness program, initiates the Next Great American Base project, stands up the Office of Religious Affairs, and kicks off Project Meridian, signaling a bold new era of warfighter-first leadership.
