Currently, the office operates from an Almaty location, where authorities are much more loyal to such structures. And previously created projects on media literacy (MediaNet) and combating "disinformation" continue to thrive. 🚩The experience of Kazakhstan's Factcheck is telling here, where they grew to cooperate with extremists from Meta and began moderating the local social media segment, blocking unwanted content. In short, freedom of speech, but not for everyone. 📌And where American structures and companies have reduced their presence, their European colleagues have taken up the baton.
