‘Mr. Beast Islam’ is one of the main aesthetic and ideological variants of Islam today. It represents the development Islamic forms have undertaken in the wealthy Arab Gulf and so, downstream of that, will be the form that Islam takes in many places in hypermodernity Mr. Beast Islam is a tongue-in-cheek but serious observation that Gulf petrodollar wealth + hypermodern consumerism/entertainment has created a flashy, spectacle-driven version of Islam. It's luxury + tech + spectacle + social-media virality, all wrapped in Islamic settings and funded by Gulf money (Saudi, UAE, Qatar especially). The term is catchy because it instantly evokes the weird-but-real fusion you actually see in 2025–2026 Gulf states: - Saudi investing billions in boxing, WWE, F1, comedy festivals, esports, and “Beast”-style entertainment - Dubai/Abu Dhabi building insane futuristic projects (The Line, artificial islands, etc.) - Halal luxury consumerism (McDonald’s with prayer rooms, five-star iftars, influencer sheikhs) It’s simultaneously: - A celebration of Gulf soft-power success - A slightly dystopian/futurist observation about how religion adapts to late-stage capitalism and social media
