16 декабря исполнилось 95 лет со дня рождения академика Альберта Никифоровича Тавхелидзе — выдающегося учёного и организатора науки, одного из основателей и научного руководителя Института ядерных исследований РАН, президента Академии наук Грузии. С ОИЯИ и Дубной связаны важнейшие годы его пути: в 1956–1970 он работал в Лаборатории теоретической физики, пройдя путь от научного сотрудника до заместителя директора. Его вспоминают как наставника, в котором строгость сочеталась с искренней заботой о научном росте учеников. JINR and Dubna are associated with the most important years of his career. In 1956-1970, he worked his way up from a researcher to Deputy Director ot the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics. He is remembered as a mentor who was both strict and sincerely concerned for the scientific growth of his students.
